The Tae Shin Do Self Defence School offers a number of different services:

Ju Jitsu:  This is the primary focus of the Tae Shin Do Self Defence School.  Ju Jitsu is an ancient martial art that was originally taught to the Samurai warriors so that if they lost their sword during a battle, they could still be able to defend themselves against armed assailants.  Tae Shin Do Ju Jitsu is not like your normal or traditional style of Ju Jitsu.  It has been modified to suite todays environment and contains various aspects of other styles of martial art to give the student a more complete self defence package, while still focusing mainly on the fundamental Ju Jitsu principles.

We don't operate during school holidays or Public Holidays.  Training at the Medowie branch is back for the third term from Monday 21 July.

The Tae Shin Do Ju Jitsu style is recognised by the World Ju Jitsu Federation and the Australian Ju Jitsu Association.

Women’s / Children’s Self Defence Classes:  The Tae Shin Do Self Defence School offers short courses consisting of 12, one hour lessons for women and children, to give them a basic ability in self defence.  Not just to enhance their self confidence or to provide them with the skills they might need in a confronting situation, but also to give them an active interest in the martial arts.  These techniques are specifically designed for women and children because you don't need great strength to carry them out.  They rely on the use of the "Small Circle Theory" and the natural flaws in the design of the human body.  Together, they combine to give an effective self defence capability.  These courses are done on an opportunity basis.  Go to "Contact Us" to get more information on where and when these courses are run.

Private Lessons:  Another service to customers that don't want to go through the long process of grading through the belt system in Ju Jitsu, but still want to learn the self defence techniques available, are private lessons.  These lessons are one-on-one, or one-on-two classes that teach the student the most important skills needed for an individual to adequately defend themself if required.   These lessons are a very effective learning tool as the student has the instructors undivided attention for 100% of the time.

Shop:   The Tae Shin Do Self Defence School is an authorised distributor for the Asian World World of Martial Arts (AWMA).  The AWMA is one of the biggest martial arts retailers in the United States and we are very proud to be part of their team.  Our shop is always open so click on our "Shop" logo to the right to start your shopping experience.  We mainly sell ProForce® gear, but also sell equipment from other popular martial art and boxing manufacturers.  You can also purchase Tae Shin Do unique products, including a book, shirts, beenie's and stubby holders, all with the Tae Shin Do name / logo on them.
