Video 1
This video shows you how simple and effective the Tae Shin Do techniques are. Unlike the hard styles of martial arts that use kicking or punching to get out of holds, Tae Shin Do shows that you can get out of holds by the use of very simple techniques, that require very little effort or strength and don't injure the person performing the hold. These are particularly useful for children at school, for example. Someone can put them in a hold, and without the use of hitting, kicking or punching, they can quite easily break free from the hold which can then prevent any further violence from occurring.
The hold in this video is a simple grab on the wrist. This video shows the difference between the natural tendency to try and pull your arm away to release the hold and then shows the Tae Shin Do technique employed to easily release the grip. As you can see, no-one gets hit or hurt, so at school, this technique can be used with no-one getting into trouble or suspended.
This technique can also be used in a more violent situation. Your child is walking home from school, a cars pulls along side and a man jumps out, grabs your child on the arm and trys to drag them into their car. Using this technique, your child can instantly release from the grip and run away.
